Heat treatment of slewing bearing raceway
Generally, the slewing-bearing raceway should be subjected to induction hardening. The shape of hardening layer is shown as follows:
Installation tips for slewing bearings:
1. Before installation, the installation reference surface and the bracket installation plane must be cleaned to remove oil stains, burrs, paints, and other foreign matters.
2. Ball Track quenching soft belt (external mark“S" or plugged hole) shall be placed in a non-load area or non-recurrent load area.
3. After the slewing bearing is lifted to the location, check the flatness of the attaching plane with a feeler gauge. If there is a gap, it should be machined again. If it cannot be machined, it can be filled with plastic or local gaskets to prevent support deformation after the bolt is tightened and affect the performance of the slewing bearing.
4. Before the installation bolt is tightened, adjust the side clearance according to the highest point of the gear pitch circle radial runout (three teeth painted with blue marks), and check the side clearance on all ring gears after the bolt is tightened.
5. Tightening the bolts shall be carried out symmetrically and continuously in the direction of 180°. Finally, it shall be passed through once to ensure that the bolts on the circumference have the same pre-tightening force, as shown in the following schematic diagram.
